“KEEPING SCIENTOLOGY® WORKING” NEWS PUBLISHED BY RELIGIOUS TECHNOLOGY CENTER®

Scientology & Eternity

“Having the correct Technology” is the first point of Keeping Scientology Working, per HCO PL 7 February 1965 Keeping Scientology Working Series 1.

It is vital that LRH's technology is preserved in such a way that it will always be available from now to eternity, no matter what may happen with our current civilization.

All of LRH's taped lectures are being recorded onto special pure gold compact discs.

Past and present day materials, such as recording tape and normal paper, do not endure over long periods of time. Over a period of years normal recording tape deteriorates and can actually start to lose the voices and sounds recorded on it. It can even crumble with the result being that the recordings are lost forever. Most paper becomes old and yellowed with the padding of time, and is very fragile against elements such as water, chemicals and heat.

Therefore a project has been undertaken which has the purpose of preserving all of LRH's technology so that it will be available forever, 100% standard and ready for use.

One of the first actions taken was to preserve all the LRH tape recordings on the best commercial recording tape available today. In addition, these lectures have been recorded onto digital tape using state-of-the-art professional digital equipment.

LRH taped recordings are also being recorded onto special compact discs. These discs are made of pure gold encased in glass, designed to last at least 1,000 years with no deterioration of sound quality.

LRH writings are being preserved by etching them onto plates of the most durable stainless steel.

In addition to these tapes and compact discs, all LRH recordings are being put onto long playing records. However these are not the usual long playing records-the lectures are cut directly onto copper discs and are being coated with different metals such as gold and nickel. Special mechanical record players are being designed as well, which will enable one to play these records without electricity, so LRH's spoken words will always be be preserved in a form that can be listened to.

LRH's written materials are also being preserved. All such materials are being etched onto plates made of one of the most corrosion-resistent types of stainless steel in existence. This steel has been tested under severe conditions and has been predicted to last well over 1,000 years, even if unprotected and subjected to corrosive elements such as industrial pollution or salt spray from the ocean.

Sample of the archival LRH books, which are made using the most durable and binding processes available on earth today.

His writings are also being bound into books, using the most durable materials and binding processes available on the planet today. The paper used for these books is made with pure cotton rag fibers and is completely acid-free, with a special protective alkaline buffer built in to prevent any future acid from harming it. The book covers are made from 100% linen, the most durable archival book cover fabric available, and all book components are 100% archival. These books are estimated to last at least 1,000 years.

Mr. Norman Starkey shows a new container being developed which will help preserve LRH writings and recordings for eternity.

To further protect all of these materials, special containers are being made out of titanium, a metal used in aerospace applications because of its extreme toughness and durability. The containers are equipped with valves so that all air can be removed from the containers and replaced with an inert gas, further protecting the contents from any future deterioration.

The actions of this project are ensuring that LRH's technology and his original manuscripts are preserved for the future and will always be available, helping to guarantee Man's freedom for all eternity.
