On Monday, 27th January, 1986, over 5,000 Scientologists gathered together in the Hollywood Palladium and Celebrity Centre® International in Los Angeles, for a special briefing from International Management.
By means of a special live satellite link-up, they were joined by 1,600 Scientologists at the Flag® Land Base in Clearwater, Florida. |

The event was opened by the Master of Ceremonies, Mr. David Miscavige, who announced that for the past 6 years LRH had been intensively researching the upper bands of OT® so that The Bridge® Classification and Gradation Chart would be laid out in full for all Scientologists, and that he had completed all of the researches he had set out to do.
“LRH has now moved on to his next level of OT research,” Mr. Miscavige continued. “This level is beyond anything any one of us ever imagined. This level is in fact done in an exterior state, meaning that it is done completely exterior from the body. At this level of OT, the body is nothing more than an impediment, an encumbrance to any further gain as an OT. Thus, at 20:00 hours on Friday, the 24th of January AD 36, L. Ron Hubbard discarded the body he had used in this lifetime for 74 years, 10 months and 11 days. The body he had used to facilitate his existence in this MEST universe had ceased to be useful and, in fact, had become an impediment to the work he now must do outside of its confines.”
SCIENTOLOGISTS ARE THE FIRST TO KNOW
Mr. Miscavige told the audience that it was important that Scientologists be the first to become aware of this fact. “The being that Scientologists knew as L. Ron Hubbard still exists,” he stressed, “but the body he had could no longer serve his purpose. This decision was one made at complete cause by L. Ron Hubbard.”
“COMPLETED EVERYTHING HE SET OUT TO DO”
“L. Ron Hubbard completed everything he set out to do, and more,” stated Mr. Miscavige. “The fact that he causatively and willingly discarded the body after it was no longer useful to him signifies his ultimate success: the conquest of life that he embarked upon half a century ago.”
The attending Scientologists responded to the message with an enthusiastic standing ovation, indicating their full duplication of the message LRH intended them to receive.
“THE CHURCH IS IN GOOD HANDS”
Next to address the audience was Mr. Earl Cooley, Church Attorney and Lifetime Member of the International Association of Scientologists. Mr. Cooley explained that he had been accorded the honor and responsibility of making certain LRH's legal instructions were carried out precisely.
Mr. Cooley concluded his remarks by saying, “L. Ron Hubbard has, in effect, told us that the Church is in good hands. You have all of the tools, you have all of the resources to take this planet and to save mankind. Support and rally behind your leaders. Together you will win total victory and achieve the ultimate goals of Scientology.”

The audience was then addressed by Mr. Pat Broeker, one of LRH's most trusted friends and companions, who lived and worked with him for the past six years. “LRH expressly stated that there was to be no grief, no mourning,” said Mr. Broeker. “I told him that of course I would forward that message, and LRH replied, ‘Do you think there will be some anyway?’ I told him I thought there might be, so he said to me, ‘You tell them. Don't let there be even the remotest possibility that some will try to unintentionally invalidate themselves. They know they're not a body. Don't let them be confused about it.’”
The Master of Ceremonies, David Miscavige, then asked the audience to welcome Mr. Norman Starkey, who performed a special ceremony in honor of L. Ron Hubbard.

Captain Marc Yager, Commanding Officer of the Commodore's Messenger Organization International, was joined by Captain Guillaume Lesevre, Executive Director International; Commander Vicky Aznaran, Inspector General of the Religious Technology Center; Commander Ray Mithoff, Senior Case Supervisor International; and Ensign Heber Jentzsch, President of the Church of Scientology International, to address the assembled Scientologists on management's plans for the future. |

“We stand ready to continue,” Captain Yager stated on their behalf. Reaffirming International Management's intention to carry out LRH's goals and purposes, Captain Yager said, “LRH has given us the goals of Scientology, and he's given us the capability to reach those goals. There are many things that we have begun which we intend to bring to a full conclusion. For example, we intend to see that OT VIII is released and delivered this year so that we can begin the mass making of OTs — not Pre OTs but full OTs — on planet Earth. Further, we will continue to see that new areas are opened up to LRH”! technology, such as Japan, which now has a forming organization, and China. We will ensure that all orgs achieve the size of old Saint Hill, and that a specially trained corps of auditors is sent to those orgs to audit the staff up The Bridge Classification and Gradation Chart as LRH intended.
“We have LRH's brand-new Grade Chart and the Clear Certainty Rundown™! to deliver,” Captain Yager said, “and we will be working with the org staff to ensure this route is made available to all. In the last several years LRH has re-codified the entire training route with new checksheets for each level, and International Management will be making sure this technical material is widely available so that any being on this planet can study the tech and use it to handle life and make man free.”

Within 24 hours a video of this important briefing was rushed to every Church of Scientology on the planet by the fastest means possible.
Within 48 hours every major Scientology organization was filled with people who had gathered together to see the video briefing, to salute LRH, and to re-affirm their determination to make his goals and the Aims of Scientology a reality.
